The BIG day: September 20th, 2024
Tell us about your love story: My husband and I met in our high school youth group after he recognized me from a viral video of me dancing on Twitter. He proceeded to refer to me as “the dancing girl from Twitter” for six months until he finally worked up the courage to ask me for my name and phone number. We became close friends, lost touch, then eventually reconnected in college and started dating. Four years later, he proposed on a golf course we had spent so many summer evenings on together after convincing me all of our family and friends were getting together to play a round together. He popped the question on the 16th hole—on the dock overlooking the pond—with picture frames of us through the years lining the dock with sunflowers (my favorite) and champagne. The most magical moment ever!!! And all of our friends and family were there to celebrate with us.
My husband and I chose not to do a first look on our wedding day, so the first time we saw each other was at the ceremony…and it was nothing short of amazing. The second those doors opened and I saw him, instantly there were waterworks for the both of us—I’ve never seen him cry like that from happiness! He absolutely loved my dress and the way I was able to wear my overskirt for the ceremony and take it off for the reception for a “second look” effect.
Words of advice for future brides: Do not make decisions about your big day out of obligation! This is YOUR day, and it’s the only time all of your favorite people are going to be in one place to celebrate you and the love of your life. Make decisions that make you excited about the day, even if it means disappointing other people. (-:
Share about your TWS experience: Anna was absolutely amazing in helping me find my dream wedding gown at TWS! She simply never said “no,” and was so willing to work with whatever I wanted to try on, whether it was sleeves, a veil, an overskirt, etc. The store is absolutely beautiful and the girls let me walk allllll around with them to pull any and every dress I wanted. 12/10 experience!
Share a special moment(s) from your big day: My husband and I took time to write our vows to share at the alter, and somehow my vow book was forgotten in the dressing room before the ceremony. As a result, our officiant asked me if I wanted to recite my vows on the spot, and in doing so, the moment was even more special than if I had recited the original vows I had written. AND I got to read my original vows to my husband on our honeymoon…which was so incredibly beautiful. I’m so glad we forgot my vow book!!
